Update: rough first visit, but the owner stood behind his work — ★★★★ The day after I posted the 1-star review below, James, the owner, called me. He didn't get defensive. He told me that the more he dug into each point I'd raised — the parts, the suppliers, the labor — the more he agreed his shop had dropped the ball, and he said so plainly. He refunded two-thirds of what I'd paid, on his own, and never once asked me to change this review. I want to walk back one thing specifically: I called this a "shady shop." After talking with James, I no longer think that's fair and I retract it. The problems on my first visit were real, and I've left the details below for context — but the way James owned them and made it right tells me more about him and his shop than the mistakes did. I'd give them another shot. — — — Original review: Shady Shop - Buyer Beware - $460 for an oil change - and I provided the oil and filter! I brought my 2025 GMC Sierra to Weaver's Diesel for a quoted $1,100 job: install an aftermarket Banks oil pan and larger filter, with a pump relocated a few inches. I bought and supplied the entire parts kit and the oil myself. I dropped it off the night before and called the next morning to confirm they had everything. They did. Ten minutes later, Chad called to say he hadn't noticed the truck had a lift, and that it would roughly double the price. Too much for me, so I told him to skip the Banks pan and just do an oil change with the oil, filter, and pump kit I'd supplied. He agreed and said he'd call with a pickup time. That was 9:50 AM. By 1 PM, no call. So I called them. Now the story had changed. Chad told me his tech had already pulled the factory oil pan during our earlier call — something he never mentioned — so now they had to order a new OEM pan to replace it. He claimed the factory pan being siliconed and single-use caught them off guard. Any shop touching modern trucks knows these pans are siliconed aluminum and single-use. He also told me the Banks pan I'd supplied was listed as incompatible with my lift on the Banks Performance website. I asked for the link. It said no such thing — only that the lift crossmember had to be dropped. I called Banks directly. They confirmed I was right. His explanation for all of it? They "don't see many newer trucks." Manufacturers publish OEM service procedures for exactly this reason, and a professional shop should be working from them. I picked the truck up at closing expecting a discounted oil change. The bill was $460. The invoice shows 2.7 hours of labor at $150/hour — for an oil change and a pump relocation that the parts maker confirms is a 15-minute DIY job. In other words, they charged me for the time it took to clean up their own mistakes. They'd also stacked oil-soaked boxes of unused parts directly on my leather back seats. I chose this shop for its strong reviews. They didn't match the service I got. Buyer beware.

Thank you JC for leaving the review. I will never hide from the dirt that will inevitably happen in any kind of business. But after our phone call I belive that we can honestly say that the only two facts that you mentioned in your review that were not true was the "shady shop" and also that we were charging you for the mistakes that we made. There are things that we could have done that would have made your first time visit better and more productive, and as we discussed, the appropriate chages have been made. I appreciate the time that you spent with me on the phone and value you bringing this to my attention. If this situation has not been taken care of to your 100% sastisfation, I will allways welcome your call. I look forward to your future visits so that we can provide you with the level of service that we should have the first time. James Weaver
